Nice Things Paloma S.: a love story

When I was a teenager, fashion became one of my greatest passions. I remember leaving high school and heading towards the city center to visit my favorite stores. I felt so inspired by all those clothes, accessories and shoes. Having my own style has always been very important to me. I remember spending hours talking to a friend about style, about what we were transmitting to the world through what we were wearing. I wanted my style to be a mirror of who I was.

Nice Things Paloma S. was one of those stores I used to visit often. I grew up in a small city so this brand was a breath of fresh air. My personal style exudes a vintage/retro vibe since I have started high school. Therefore, Nice Things was simply perfect back then and it still is, right now. Going to that wooden and peaceful store and looking at their style that I would describe as feminine, artistic, unique and creative made me travel. Suddenly, I wasn’t living in Braga anymore. I was wandering through the streets of the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. Their fabrics, their design and their patterns also fueled my own creativity. No wonder I wore a Nice Things old rose blouse for my 18th birthday. I remember styling it with a stone necklace, a leather bag, black jeans and oxford shoes.

Nearly ten years later, I still feel fascinated and inspired by Nice Things Paloma S. When I saw this #99 ‘Big Flower’ shirt, I fell in love and pictured right away all the different ways I could style it. But, to be honest, Nice Things SS 2019 collection is just dreamy. I haven’t stopped thinking about this Sun Faces Blazer since I saw it for the first time, two weeks ago. I think that, besides their notable quality and wonderful design, what I truly love is that this brand still speaks to my soul. I have evolved. Nice Things has evolved. But, somehow, we have evolved together, we’re heading in the same direction.

I’d like to thank Nice Things Paloma S. for gifting me this shirt. You can buy it here (my size is 38).
