Here’s my May wrap-up and let me just say that I am really proud of this stack. ♥️ Ten books is a surprising number especially because I moved back to Portugal this month and was busy! This was possible because most of these books were great and super engrossing! In a nutshell:
🍓 My favorite: Beautiful Boy by Nic Sheff & Normal People by Sally Rooney (no, I cannot choose one);
🍓 A great feminist book: The Mother of All Questions by Rebecca Solnit;
🍓 An engrossing novel that explores urgent issues: An American Marriage by Tayari Jones;
🍓 A dark and sublime short story collection: You Know You Want This by Kristen Roupenian;
🍓 A thought-provoking book on female stereotypes: Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud by Anne Helen Petersen.
Thank you to the following publishers for sending me free copies of the books noted. Thank you to Algonquin (An American Marriage), Presença (Beautiful Boy), FSG Books (Evening in Paradise), Crown Publishing (Normal People), Jonathan Cape (You Know You Want This) and Tin House Books (Magical Negro).
